TSSAA District 7AAA Championship Game:

Despite Collecting Nine Hits, Riverdale Warriors Falls To Smyrna

Even though Riverdale Warriors collected nine hits to Smyrna’s four, they still fell 4-3 on Thursday – May 11th, 2017.

Riverdale Warriors captured the lead in the second inning. Riverdale Warriors scored one run when Kendall Forsythe homered with zero outs in the second inning.

Smyrna took the lead for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Katie Killen doubled off of Maddie Cochran, driving in one run, Cochran induced Hannah Ward to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, and Nicole Randolph singled off of Cochran, driving in two runs.

Home runs for Riverdale Warriors came when Brooke McClure homered in the fifth inning and Forsythe homered in the second inning.

Riverdale Warriors collected nine hits. Forsythe and Sami Cenizal each collected multiple hits for Riverdale Warriors. Caymen Starwalt, Forsythe, and McClure each drove in one run to lead Riverdale Warriors.
