For the second time in history, a Riverdale High School student has been elected as the Tennessee FFA president. Senior Luke Love, son of Tony and Katie Love of Murfreesboro, was chosen to represent the more than 14,000 FFA members from across the state. He was installed as president during the final session of the 90th annual state FFA convention held in Gatlinburg, TN March 25-28, 2018.
Luke began his involvement in the agriculture industry as a fourth grader in the Rutherford County 4-H program. Once at Riverdale, his agriculture teacher encouraged him to get involved with the FFA and convinced him to join the dairy products judging team. Luke says that experience led him to make the study of agriculture his focus. Since that time, he has competed in countless contests and leadership development events. He currently serves as the Riverdale FFA chapter president and the Middle TN FFA president.
Over the next year, Luke will lead a team of seven other state FFA officers from across the state. Together, they will visit chapters across the state where they will encourage and teach other FFA members to strive to be better leaders and advocates for the agriculture industry.
