Since 1972, Riverdale High School has provided quality education for students in Rutherford County. With recent expansions, Riverdale can now accommodate over 2300 students.

Riverdale has strong academic, vocational, and athletic programs. Students from the school have been named as Finalist in the National Merit Scholarship competitions. Riverdale athletic teams have been ranked first Nationally and in Tennessee and the football team has been nationally rank, including winning State Championships in 1994, 1997, 2001, and 2004. Girls basketball has six state titles and finished #1 Nationally in ESPN final rankings in 2013 and 2017. Softball has won a state championship and wrestling has had state champions.
