In Game 1 of the District 7AAA Tournament – Riverdale beat Oakland 9-3 at Oakland High School.

Riverdale took the lead late and defeated Oakland 9-3 on Friday. The game was tied at three with Riverdale Warriors Varsity Softball batting in the top of the fifth when Sarah Margaret Lowe doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Oakland scored three runs in the third inning, but Riverdale still managed to pull out the victory. The offensive firepower by Oakland was led by Shelby Sargent, Aimee Hall, and Onnika Spencer, all driving in runs in the inning.
Riverdale knotted the game up at three in the top of the fourth inning. Riverdale Warriors Varsity Softball scored three runs when Kendall Forsythe homered.
Riverdale put up three runs in the seventh inning. The big inning was thanks to a home run by Lowe and an error on a ball put in play by Sydney Williams.
Becca Komers toed the rubber for the Warriors going three innings, allowing three runs on seven hits.
Riverdale hit three home runs on the day. Kaylee Hewitt had a homer in the sixth inning. Lowe put one out in the seventh inning. Forsythe went yard in the fourth inning.
Riverdale had 11 hits in the game. Becca Komers, Jordan Komers, and Lowe all collected multiple hits for Riverdale. Komers went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Riverdale in hits. Riverdale didn’t commit a single error in the field. Forsythe had the most chances in the field with five.
Reagan Bogle led Oakland with two hits in three at bats.
