Riverdale Warriors Varsity Drops Game To Oakland After Late Score
Monday’s game against Oakland was a heartbreaker for Riverdale Warriors Varsity, as they lost the lead late in a 10-6 defeat. The game was tied at three with Oakland batting in the top of the fifth when Ashlee Jacoway’s sac fly scored one run for Oakland.
Despite the loss, Riverdale Warriors Varsity did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Oakland had nine hits on the way to victory.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Riverdale Warriors Varsity tied things up at three when Sarah Margaret Lowe doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Riverdale Warriors Varsity tallied three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a home run by Lowe and a fielder’s choice by Emily Harris.
Rylee Veron took the win for Oakland. She allowed eight hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out one and walking one.
Sydney Williams took the loss for Riverdale Warriors Varsity. She lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out one.
Riverdale Warriors Varsity smacked two home runs on the day. Sami Cenizal had a four bagger in the fourth inning. Lowe put one out in the sixth inning.
Riverdale Warriors Varsity tallied eight hits in the game. Lowe and Williams each collected multiple hits for Riverdale Warriors Varsity. Williams and Lowe each collected two hits to lead Riverdale Warriors Varsity.
Reagan Bogle went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Oakland in hits. Oakland stole eight bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Bogle led the way with three.
