Riverdale watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 8-2 loss to Mount Juliet on Monday in Mt. Juliet.

Mount Juliet scored on the following plays a walk by Makayla Draper in the first inning, a ground out by Kailey Brimm, another ground out by Lindsay Adkison, and finally a ground out by Alyssa Costley in the second inning.

The Riverdale struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Mount Juliet, giving up eight runs on 9 hits with 4 defensive errors.

Costley led the Mount Juliet to victory in the pitcher’s circle. She surrendered two runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out two.

Becca Komers took the loss for Riverdale surrendering eight runs on nine hits over six innings, striking out four.

Riverdale socked one home run on the day by Kendall Forsythe in the sixth inning.
Riverdale racked up seven hits in the game; lead by Sarah Margaret Lowe and Breanna Bailey each 2 hits.

Mount Juliet totaled nine hits in the game. Camryn Cernuto and Adkison all managed multiple hits for Mount Juliet. Cernuto led Mount Juliet with three hits in four at bats.
